Chrysler Celebrates its One Millionth V6 engine

Chrysler Group LLC has recently produced its 1,000,000th Pentastar V6 engine.  On Friday January 27th, Chrysler completed this milestone engine at its Trenton, Michigan assembly plant.

“To build one million of anything, and in an impressively short amount of time, is a significant achievement,” said Brian Harlow, Chrysler vice president and head of Powertrain Manufacturing. “But to do it with such a high degree of quality is a testament to our skilled and dedicated workforce at both Trenton South and Saltillo engine plants.”

The automaker’s 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee was the original recipient of this all-aluminum engine, but now it is offered in almost a dozen different models, including the Chrysler 300, Dodge Challenger, and Jeep Wrangler. The 2012 3.6-liter V6 provides 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft. of torque.

Chrysler’s Minivan of the future

Think that all minivans look the same? Think again. Chrysler unveiled the 700 C concept car at the North American International Auto Show and this minivan looks anything but average.

Designed to be lower to the ground and more aerodynamic, the Chrysler 700 C looks unlike any other minivan out there. The windows are artistic and modern and the hood is a jet black, in contrast with the silver metallic body.

Chrysler did not give much information about the 700 C and simply said that they wanted to survey the public’s reaction before reveling anything else about the concept car.

Either way, it looks like Chrysler has big plans for the future with this ultra-modern design.
